Our weekly #Activate vlog series uses clips from Educe® online courses to illuminate the truth behind the cultural battles of today (and tomorrow) and move Christians from education to action in their communities, churches, and circles of influence.
There has hardly been a more divisive time in America. We’re angry, frustrated, scared, disillusioned, and disgusted—often, all in the same day. As humans, we can’t maintain this level of anxiety for long before it damages our closest relationships and even our most basic hopes. It’s safe to say we’ve reached this point and perhaps even passed it. We’re changing as a people. We’re imprisoning each other in ideological boxes. We’re rejecting human connection, though we long for it in our hearts. All because we’ve forgotten one simple truth—a truth that sits silent and ready among all of the chaos today.
This week’s online course clip provides a critical reminder that can completely change our perspective if we let it. If, even for a moment, we can lower our defenses, quiet our emotions, and choose to see the bigger picture, we can be filled with compassion for those who are trapped in darkness; those headed for destruction by the one true Enemy. It is only when we fix our gaze on the love and grace of God, and not on the fallenness of humankind, that we realize this battle we’re fighting has already been won. It is only then that we can reach the unreachable and show them that the door to their prison cell (and the door to ours) is already wide open.
