Activate Series: #25 – Our Mandate Is Biblical, So What About the Political?

The pro-life movement operates on two levels, both of which are legitimate and necessary in the battle for life. The first is the political level; those of us trying to unravel the legislative and judicial mess of abortion law. The second is the grassroots level; those of us on the sidewalks and in helping, healing, and educating ministries. The political level is expected to solve to the legal problem, while the grassroots level is expected to solve the heart problem. But there’s a problem…

The political level has long abandoned principles, and a significant number at the grassroots level has drifted away as well.

Case in point: The recent omnibus budget deal. You’ve likely heard, and are rightly upset, that this budget deal did not defund Planned Parenthood. But there’s much more to the story.
